What is Dochi AI?
Dochi AI lets you talk to AI characters — called companions — and create your own. Swipe through Discover to meet them one at a time, or use Browse to search the whole library. Open any companion and start typing; they stay in character and remember your conversation.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes — Dochi AI for Android has everything, including voice calls with your AI characters. You can also open the website, www.dochiai.com, on a computer to use your AI characters, the Studio, group chats and the community pages. Voice calls are only in the Android app, and there is no iPhone app yet.
Can I use Dochi AI without an account?
Yes, you can browse and chat as a guest. A guest account cannot create AI characters, connect AI access, add a birthday or use the 18+ mode, and it is lost when you sign out or remove the app. Creating a free account takes a moment and keeps everything.
Can I use Dochi AI in my language?
Yes. Tap the globe at the top of the sign-in screen, or open Settings and choose Language. Everything changes together: the buttons and labels, and the way your companions write and greet you. You can change it whenever you like, and you do not need an account to set it — pick your language first and sign in afterwards.
Can I chat with more than one companion at once?
Yes. Make a group from the Create tab and add the companions you want in it. The reply comes back as one message with each speaker’s name in front of their own line, so a scene can move between several of them in a single turn. Your plan sets how many groups you can have, and Usage shows where you are. A group is private to you, and deleting a group never deletes the companions in it.
How do voice calls work?
Open a chat and tap the call button. Before the call starts you see how long this call can last, how much time you have left today and what each minute costs, and you can cancel for free. Talk, then pause: what you said is sent after a short pause, or tap anywhere to send it sooner. After 20 seconds of silence the call pauses until you tap. You can switch your mic off, turn subtitles on or off, and turn off the sound of the call. A ring around your AI character’s picture empties as the time runs down, and the call ends by itself when the time for one call or for today runs out. The longest single call depends on your plan. Everything said in the call is saved in the chat. Time is counted while you are connected, and your daily minutes come back at midnight UTC.
Does my companion remember our conversation?
Yes. Recent messages are sent to the AI model word for word, and anything older is condensed into a running summary, so long conversations stay coherent without forgetting how they started. How much is sent word for word is the AI model’s Memory, which you can choose in the app under that AI model’s settings. You can switch memory off for one chat in the chat menu, under Enhancement.
What are the different AI models?
Each AI character is powered by an AI model, and AI models differ in how well they write. Open the chat menu, tap Models, then Switch model. Nexus Core is free and good for everyday chat; Nexus Boost and Nexus Ultra write noticeably better and cost credits per message. Tags on each AI model say what it is good at, and tapping a tag above the list shows only the AI models that have it. Your choice is remembered for each conversation.
How do I create a companion?
Open Create and pick how much work you want to do. Fast mode asks you four quick questions and the AI writes and draws the whole companion. Slow mode gives you the full form with an AI polish button beside each field. Manual mode is the same form with no AI help and always costs nothing. The price of each mode is shown on its card before you start, so you never commit without seeing it. Whichever you pick, the result is yours to edit before anyone else sees it.
What is the 18+ mode?
Adults can choose to also see AI characters made for adults, with romance, flirting and desire. Intimate moments are written gently, through feelings and closeness, and never in explicit detail. Explicit sexual content is not allowed for anyone. The 18+ mode stays off until you switch it on: in the app, choose Unfiltered under AI characters you see, in Profile, Settings or Browse. That choice only appears when your birthday says you are 18 or older, and you can switch back to Filtered at any time.
Is Dochi AI safe for younger users?
Dochi AI is for ages 13 and up, and users under 18 always see the filtered app: no sexual content, every AI character is an adult, uploads and AI character text are screened before they go live, and replies are filtered as they are written. If a reply goes too far, the AI character stays in the story but leads the scene in a different direction. Accounts under 18 are also reminded that they are chatting with an AI and to take breaks. The 18+ mode is only for adults whose birthday says so. A parent can connect to a teenager’s account for a weekly summary that never includes the chats, and is told when the teenager tries to reach content for adults. Anything that gets past all of that can be reported from the app.
How do parental controls work?
A teenager invites a parent from Settings → Birthday → Invite a parent. The parent receives an email with a 6-digit code and enters it in their own Dochi AI account, which must belong to an adult. From then on the parent gets a weekly summary, in the Terminal (the family dashboard in the app) and by email every Monday: time spent chatting, messages sent, the AI characters used most, how many replies the safety filter stopped, and how many times the teenager tried to reach content for adults. The chats themselves are never shared. Parental controls end automatically on the teenager’s 18th birthday.
What are credits and what uses them?
Credits pay for the AI work you ask for. Messages on paid AI models cost credits per reply — a little more as a conversation grows, and at most the price of the Memory you chose. The Thinking option, where the AI model plans before it replies, adds a small amount only when that planning actually happens. Creating an AI character with AI costs whatever the Fast or Slow card says. Free AI models and Manual mode cost nothing, and reply suggestions are always free. Your balance is in Usage, and a price is always shown before you commit to it.
Will my AI character tell me that it is an AI and not a person?
Yes. Every AI character on Dochi AI is played by an AI model. If you sincerely ask whether you are talking to a real person, your AI character answers that it is an AI, not a person, and then carries on with the story.
