Why does it only read the parts in quotation marks?

Because you chose that when you first opened a chat. Dochi AI can either read the whole reply, including the descriptions of what your companion is doing, or only the words they actually say — the parts inside quotation marks. Neither is better; long roleplay replies are often mostly description, which some people would rather read than hear. You can change it any time in Settings → Read aloud.
